2018 Ole Miss prospect primer

Below are notable Ole Miss players eligible for the 2018 NFL Draft. The team has been going through controversies related to their former Head Coach, Hugh Freeze, and various other parts of their program recently. The organization must not let those issues distract them and support one another if they are to pull off a miracle season.

Offense

Running back Jordan Wilkins – 6’1”, 217 lbs. – Senior

Wilkin was impressing coaches and teammates 2 years ago but was derailed last season when he was deemed academically ineligible. Ole Miss will use a committee of running backs but look for Wilkins to assert himself as the leader. He holds a good frame to handle the running load and has the combination of speed and power that is dangerous against LBs in space.

Offensive Lineman Javon Patterson – 6’3”, 314 lbs. – Junior

Patterson started in every game last season while switching between playing guard and center. His power in the running game has made him an All-SEC blocker.

Defense

Defensive End Marquis Haynes – 6’3” 230 lbs. –  Senior

Haynes is the best player on the Ole Miss defense. His explosion off the snap and speed around the edge has gained him 24.5 sacks in his career which is 2 ½ sacks behind Ole Miss great Greg Hardy. He will need to improve upon disengaging with blockers but another solid season as a pass rushing specialist could spring him atop draft boards.

Defensive Back Ken Webster – 5’11”, 194 lbs. – Junior

Webster injured his ACL on the first series last season causing him to recover the entire year. This season will be an opportunity to show he is back in form to defend 12 passes like he did before he was injured.

Roger Dixon Jr

Roger is a native of Orlando, FL. After excelling in DII football his first 2 seasons, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of playing on the Florida Gators football team, where he was named Special Teams Player of the Year and Team Captain. He earned his degree in Economics from UF's Warrington College of Business. Roger brings a passion for football and unique perspective of what it takes to be successful in football at the highest level.
