2018 Mississippi State prospect primer

Below are notable Mississippi State players eligible for the 2018 NFL Draft. To become championship contenders once again, the Bulldogs have instilled a new defensive scheme and will depend on their talented QB, Junior Nick Fitzgerald.

Offense

Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald – 6’5”, 230 lbs. – Junior

Fitzgerald is a dynamic running threat with great size and athleticism for the Quarterback position. Last season with Mississippi State, he began to show flashes of the passing ability that has helped make Dak Prescott a successful dual-threat QB in the NFL.

Offensive Lineman Martinas Rankin – 6’5”, 305 lbs. – Senior

He was the #1 rated lineman in the 2015 JUCO class and now is a potential 1st round draft pick. Rankin was beaten too often in the beginning of last season before dominating opponents starting around mid-season. He is fluent playing both tackle positions but has also practiced as center, where some NFL scouts have him projected. This year he’ll have to put a full season together to live up to his potential.

Wide Receiver Donald Gray – 5’10”, 204 lbs. – Senior

Gray plays the game with fight and a competitive nature that is great to see. Despite his 5’10” height, he attacks the football when it is in the air and regularly comes down with it. Gray is subtly efficient with his route running and immediately reverts to his competitive nature when YAC opportunities arrive.

Defense

Defensive Back JT Gray – 6’1” 202 lbs. – Senior

Gray has experience as a LB and safety, so he will fill the hybrid role in the Bulldogs’ defense. He is a returning leader and top tackler of the team. His positional versatility can get the attention of NFL personnel.

Roger Dixon Jr

Roger is a native of Orlando, FL. After excelling in DII football his first 2 seasons, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of playing on the Florida Gators football team, where he was named Special Teams Player of the Year and Team Captain. He earned his degree in Economics from UF's Warrington College of Business. Roger brings a passion for football and unique perspective of what it takes to be successful in football at the highest level.
