2018 Alabama Crimson Tide prospect primer

Below are notable University of Alabama Crimson Tide players eligible for the 2018 NFL Draft. This season is just another in the Alabama machine: recruit high-class players who then learn from the older players before getting drafted themselves.

Offense

Running Back Bo Scarbrough – 6’2”, 235 lbs. – Junior

Scarbrough is the next big, bruising RB that Alabama has become known for. His injury history will diminish his draft value but his physical running style will be tough to pass up because it wears a defense down. He could be the second coming of Derrick Henry if he stays healthy for a full senior season.

Wide Receiver Calvin Ridley – 6’1”, 190 lbs. – Junior

Anytime a freshman starts in the Alabama program- like Calvin Ridley- I take notice. He began learning from Amari Cooper and now is a potential #1 NFL WR. He is sudden in his breaks, has 4.4 long speed and understands the minor nuances of playing receiver.

Offensive Lineman Bradley Bozeman – 6’5”, 314 lbs. – Redshirt Senior

Bozeman is living his dream as a lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide fan and is now on the 2017 Preseason Rimington Trophy Watchlist. Last season Nick Saban called him out as an unsung hero as he was named Alabama’s offensive player of the game in seven of their final eight games. NFL teams will appreciate his versatility as he has experience playing center as well as guard.

Defense

Defensive Lineman Da’Shawn Hand – 6’3, 282 lbs. – Senior

Defensive Lineman Da’ron Payne – 6’2”, 308 lbs. – Junior

Payne has played as a rotational rusher in the deep Alabama D line. Last season he totaled 36 tackles which was the same amount of tackles Jonathan Allen posted the year before he was drafted. Payne has the hand quickness and mobility to become a force up the middle and have a breakout season.

Linebacker Rashaan Evans – 6’3”, 234 lbs. – Senior

Evans is a typical Alabama Crimson Tide LB: big, fast, and has waited his turn in line. Now as a senior, Evan is primed to explode onto the scene after gaining reps as an outside and inside LB his previous 3 seasons. His motor on the field displays his hunger for recognition.

Linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton – 6’0, 233 lbs. – Senior

Cornerback Anthony Averett – 6’0, 183 lbs. – Senior

Cornerback Tony Brown – 6’0, 198 lbs. – Senior

Cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick – 6’1”, 202 lbs. – Junior

Fitzpatrick is one of those rare players that shined bright as a freshman. He has seamlessly moved throughout the secondary from outside, nickel, to safety. Never shying away from match-ups with the opposing teams’ toughest WR, Fitzpatrick has displayed a natural blend of smooth transitions and ball awareness. He has a great chance of being the #1 DB during draft season.

Safety Ronnie Harrison – 6’3”, 214 lbs. – Junior

Harrison is cornerback in coverage who can deliver tackles like a strong safety. He totaled 86 tackles last season to rank second on the team. Another stellar season could have him making the jump to the NFL early.

Roger Dixon Jr

Roger is a native of Orlando, FL. After excelling in DII football his first 2 seasons, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of playing on the Florida Gators football team, where he was named Special Teams Player of the Year and Team Captain. He earned his degree in Economics from UF's Warrington College of Business. Roger brings a passion for football and unique perspective of what it takes to be successful in football at the highest level.
