NDT Scouting National Scout Scott Bischoff sits down with Detroit radio veteran Sean Baligian at the WJR Studios to discuss the state of the Lions in an ongoing series as the 2017 NFL draft gets closer. In episode No. 1, the duo discusses the work that goes into evaluating draft prospects and they talk about Matthew Stafford and the 2017 quarterback prospects.
Scott takes a closer look at Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton and Michigan safety/linebacker hybrid Jabrill Peppers. They also talk about Michigan State defensive lineman Malik McDowell from the NFL Combine. There is also some discussion about underrated players from the state of Michigan. Scott talks about the Lions actions in free agency and what that means for the Lions going forward, and they talk about the savvy understanding of the market that Quinn displayed by jumping the right tackle market to get right tackle Ricky Wagner signed before free agency actually opened.
Quinn was also able to land right guard T.J. Lang which shows a keen understanding of what quarterback Matthew Stafford’s strengths are as a player, which should give Lions fans hope. There is a discussion about the needs at linebacker and finish the show with a little love thrown to Connecticut safety Obi Melifonwu.
