2018 Nebraska Cornhuskers prospect primer

Below are the notable Nebraska Cornhuskers eligible for the 2018 NFL Draft. Nebraska enjoyed a strong bounce back year in 2017 in Coach Mike Riley’s second year, going 9-4. But the team lost a lot of senior leadership and has marginal NFL Draft prospects as they enter the 2017 college football season.

Cornerback Chris Jones – 6000, 195 – Senior

Jones has done impressive work to fully fill out his frame, he’s reported to have added 25 lbs to his frame since beginning with the Nebraska program as a true freshman. That evolution of his body hasn’t negatively impacted his athleticism, both of which will serve him well as he attempts to make a future in the NFL. He has the size profile teams now covet on the boundary.

Safety Joshua Kalu – 6010, 195 – Senior

Kalu will return to the Cornhuskers secondary for his third year as a starting Safety with the program. Kalu’s presence will help soften the loss of fellow Safety Nate Gerry; and Kalu was productive last year. He finished as the team’s third leading tackler and was first in passes broken up with 11. Kalu is well built and another productive season, especially from both a tackle and ball production standpoint, will be a strong addition to his resume.
