2018 Georgia Tech prospect primer

Below are notable Georgia Tech players eligible for the 2018 NFL Draft.  The Yellow Jackets enjoyed a bounce back season in 2016; tallying nine wins two years after pushing Florida State in the ACC Championship game. The team, for all it’s success, hasn’t been a NFL factory. Some of that has been on account of Georgia Tech’s triple option offense; but the cupboards are again bare this season.

Cornerback Lance Austin – 5100, 183 – Senior

The twin Austin brothers enter their final season of football together with Georgia Tech as the leaders of the program. The entire offensive unit is filled with young guns and the Austin brothers are constants for the program not just in presence but play-making ability.

Lance, who plays on the boundary, was the one who returned the blocked field goal against Florida State in 2015 to win the game as time expired. He was also the one to seal a victory over Virginia this year with a pick-six in the final minutes. Lance appears to have the ability of a return player; which is something to monitor; as he’s only been given intermittent return duties thus far.

Lawrence calls the nickel home and he has proven to find the football as well: he’s responsible for 7 turnovers over his three years with the program.
