2018 Auburn Tigers prospect primer

Below are notable Auburn University players eligible for the 2018 NFL Draft. Auburn’s two headed rushing attack and incoming transfer QB Jarrett Stidham has Auburn believing they have the pieces to compete for an SEC championship once again.

Running Back Kamryn Pettway – 6’0”, 235 lbs. – Junior

Pettway flirted with entering the draft after he rumbled forward for a 1,200 yards last season. His squatty, yet powerful build is like a bull running through the hole; consistently gaining 5 yards per carry.

Running Back Kerryon Johnson –  6’0”, 212 lbs. – Junior

Johnson is holding his own by rushing for 895 yards last season while sharing reps with Pettway. He is also dynamic as a kick returner averaging 25.12 yards per return.

Offensive Lineman Braden Smith – 6’6”, 303 lbs. – Senior

Smith decided to come back for his senior season despite a good chance of being drafted after an All-SEC junior season. He is a very powerful run blocker. Smith’s power and size makes him versatile enough to play guard or tackle on the next level.

Cornerback Carlton Davis – 6’1” 203lbs. – Junior

Davis isn’t afraid to lay the boom on crossing receivers or RBs who bounce the edge. His physicality destroys blocking WRs to shut down bubble passes. He was much better in zone coverage than man coverage so he’ll need to improve his transitions out of bump coverage.

Safety Tray Matthews – 6’1”, 209 lbs. – Senior

Matthews was dismissed from Georgia and soon transferred to Auburn. After some maturing and leading the team with 76 tackles, he is now the undoubted leader of the secondary.

Special Teams

Kicker Daniel Carlson – 6’4” 223 lbs. – Senior

Carlson, aka “Legatron”, is possibly the best kicker in the country. The new extra point depth will have NFL teams interested in Carlson; who has made 141 consecutive extra points.

Roger Dixon Jr

Roger is a native of Orlando, FL. After excelling in DII football his first 2 seasons, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of playing on the Florida Gators football team, where he was named Special Teams Player of the Year and Team Captain. He earned his degree in Economics from UF's Warrington College of Business. Roger brings a passion for football and unique perspective of what it takes to be successful in football at the highest level.
